This article caught my attention because it regards yet another factory tragedy. It is heartbreaking to learn that people all around the world work for large companies under terrible working conditions, and these workers have no power to speak up to do something about it. We are blessed to have laws enacted, setting standards for working conditions, as our country learned its lesson from the Shirtwaist Fire. The United States learned its lesson domestically, however we as consumers of international businesses contribute, in an indirect way, to the neglect of workers' personal rights by buying goods from them.
